Russell Roybal honored with Latino LGBT Leadership Award
On Friday, the Latino GLBT History Project (LHP) presented the Jose Ramirez Leadership Award to Task Force Deputy Executive Director for External Affairs Russell Roybal at the 7th annual Hispanic LGBTQ Heritage Awards Reception.

LHP also honored Jocelyn Carrillo and Catherine Pino. Jocelyn Carrillo, a local entrepreneur dedicated to the empowerment of the transgender Latino community was honored with the Sophia Carrero Community Award. Catherine Pino, of D&P Creative Strategies was honored with the Latina Leadership Award.

The event also featured a special tribute to Bamby Salcedo, a Trans Latina international activist who was honored by LHP with the Sylvia Rivera Achievement Award this summer during the International AIDS Conference.
