Rally at the U.S. Capitol today

Conservatives are manufacturing a debt crisis to ram through radical austerity plans that would decimate the middle class. The House is expected to vote on its radical right-wing plan Today.

But the American people are rising up. Already we’ve jammed the Capitol switchboard, and on Tuesday, we rallied in front of congressional offices across the country.

Today, the uprising comes to the East side steps of the U.S. Capitol.

Our allies with the American Dream movement and MoveOn.org are leading a major “Don’t Destroy the American Dream” rally Today at noon.

We’ll be keeping the pressure on Republicans to stop taking our economy hostage, and telling Democrats to stand strong against the GOP’s call for cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.

The clock is ticking. Unless Congress hears our voices and feels our grassroots power, the risk of a disastrous debt deal is frightening.
