2023 Gala Theme: Forever Strong, Unapologetically Queer

The theme of the National LGBTQ Task Force Gala sends a message about what is important to us; it sets a tone for how we need to show up right now, in this moment.

Right now, our community is under attack. In Florida, the most vulnerable and marginalized among us are on the frontlines fighting for their existence. Our opponents want to take us back 50 years – or more –and undo the progress we have made toward equality.

The National LGBTQ Task Force is here to fight alongside them and you. We will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our people, and we will not back down until this fight is won.

We are in this for the long haul. Right now is a time to shout from the mountain tops that we are here, we are queer, we will be UNAPOLOGETIC about being our fullest selves in every aspect of our lives, and we will fight back against any attempt to erase us.

Now is a time to stand tall in our power, and we are announcing our theme for the 2023 National LGBTQ Task Force Gala: Forever Strong, Unapologetically Queer

At our annual Gala kickoff event held at R House on June 7, 2023, the Task Force was proud to present the LGBTQ+ Equity Fund with a check for $215,000 to support organizations doing critical work for the LGBTQ+ community in South Florida. This donation represents a significant portion of the proceeds from the 2022 Gala and the 2023 Winter Party Festival. To date, the Task Force has donated over $3.5 million from these two events back to the local community. Your contributions at this year’s Gala will ensure that these vital resources continue to be invested in the places where they are needed most.
