Board Bio: Hez Norton
Hez Norton is Third Sector New England’s Director of Leadership & Partnership Initiatives. TSNE is an intermediary organization providing management and leadership resources and capacity-building programs designed to help fellow nonprofits focus on their core missions. Hez previously led TSNE’s Executive Transition Program where Hez oversaw close to 100 executive searches and interim placements for organizations in leadership transition. Hez brings over 20 years experience as an executive director, interim executive and consultant with organizations and leaders that are in transition.
Hez previously served as the executive director of Resource Generation, a national nonprofit that engages young adults with financial wealth in social change philanthropy. Prior to Resource Generation, Hez founded and was the executive director of North Carolina Lambda Youth Network, an organization focused on developing young LGBT leaders. Hez also led the youth involvement program in the North Carolina Governor’s Office and was a program officer for Learn and Serve America.
In 1996, Hez was a participant of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force’s Youth Leadership Institute. Hez was a Fellow with the Rockefeller Foundation Next Generation Leadership Program and a Lyndhurst Foundation Southern Community Partner. Hez currently sits on the board of the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition. Recent board affiliations include: Funders for LGBT Issues, Funding Exchange, MataHari – Eye of the Day and the Queer Youth Fund.
Hez earned a BA from Duke University and a Masters of Public Administration from Northeastern University.
