Development Intern – New York, NY

The Development Intern position is a part-time position of 20 hours/week and will be housed at the Task Force’s New York City office.

Position Summary
The Development Intern will work with the Database Administrator to assist in routine data management tasks and will work with the Director of Operations for Development on various tasks in support of the department’s fundraising efforts as well as her management of the New York office.

Qualifications
Applicant should have knowledge of Raiser’s Edge including query, mail and the creation and updating of records. Knowledge of Microsoft programs with an emphasis on Excel is necessary. Applicant should be extremely detail oriented with a dedication to accuracy.

This position provides administrative support to the department related to Raiser’s Edge and, if possible, Sphere. Regular reports and output include but are not limited to:

  • Adding new constituents and editing existing records
  • Correcting duplicate records in RE and Sphere
  • Commitment of gift batches created by outside vendor.

Administrative support includes but is not limited to

  • Calls to donors concerning declined or expiring credit cards
  • Maintenance of RSVP lists for smaller events
  • Maintaining e-blast and other calendars
  • Assisting with mailings, including creating mail merged documents.
  • Creating of mailing lists in Excel
  • Upkeep of list of individuals who have requested being taken off our mailing list of for whom we have returned mail.
  • Weekly creation of check requests for Director of Operations
  • Ordering office supplies and stationary, inventory existing stock
  • Oversight of various office machines and working with vendors for those machines
