Board Biography: Brad Carlson

Bradley R. Carlson is an investment professional, real estate developer and community advocate with wide-ranging experience in both the public and private sectors. He is currently building luxury loft condominiums in the Wynwood Arts District of Miami. He serves as managing director of CIC Group, a wealth management consultancy. From 1992 to 1995, Brad was a program officer at The New York Community Trust, where he researched and developed new giving programs, and staffed funding initiatives in the areas of HIV/AIDS, LGBT rights, and race relations. Brad has volunteered on behalf of a number of nonprofit and government organizations working to combat discrimination and defend human dignity. He served as board president of Stonewall Community Foundation, New York’s LGBT public charity, and in June 2011, he was honored with a Visionary Award from Stonewall in acknowledgement of his service.

Brad has chaired and served on event committees for organizations such as the Empire State Pride Agenda, Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors of Development in Gardening (“DIG”), a nonprofit organization that teaches urban gardening skills to improve the food security of people in developing nations who are affected by HIV/AIDS. Brad received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin—Madison, and his Master’s degree in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
