Sept. 21 rally on Capitol Hill! Show Congress that Medicaid matters!
Join the Task Force and more than 40 national disability, aging, labor, religious and civil rights organizations at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 21, on the west side of the Capitol to show Congress that Medicaid matters to us. Arbitrary cuts to Medicaid will result in the loss of home and community-based services that allow people to live independently, reductions in medical care and lost jobs.
Be sure to schedule a visit to your senators and representative on Sept. 21 so they can hear from you – in person – why Medicaid matters to you.
The rally kicks off an organizing drive in all 50 states. If you can’t join us in Washington, D.C., call your senators and representative to make sure they know that Medicaid matters to you (call the Capitol Switchboard at 202.224.3121 and ask for your senators’ and/or representative’s office). Remind them that:
- Medicaid provides vital home and community-based services that allow LGBT seniors and younger people with disabilities to live independently.
- Medicaid provides services that allow LGBT families to care for their children who have significant disabilities.
- Medicaid provides vital jobs for LGBT home health aides and nursing home workers so that they can support their families.
