Voter registration deadlines loom — find out your state’s deadline!
As a follow-up to our post earlier this week about National Voter Registration Day, we wanted to alert you to some looming voter registration deadlines. There are 20 states with voter registration deadlines between Oct. 6 & Oct. 9:
Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Washington state.
Another 20 states face voter registration deadlines later in October:
Alabama, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia and Virginia.
If you’re not sure whether you’re registered or where you go to vote, you can find out here. If you’re not registered, you can do that online.
We’ve come a long way but there’s a lot more we need to get done for LGBT people and families. The ballots we cast in an election have a huge impact on how fast and far we’re able to do that! So, register to vote — and then make sure to vote — so we can say goodbye to the politicians who’ll not only stop our progress, but also work to repeal the rights we’ve already won, like the repeal of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” military ban.
We’re counting on you to join us and make a difference on Election Day. Please make sure that you’re registered to vote, and then that you DO vote on Nov. 6.
