Video: Acceptance of all families

Inspired and moved by the National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change 2011, Marsha Aizumi, an educator and LGBT advocate created the following video to speak out about her local mayor inviting a speaker from Focus on the Family to a community event. One of her sons is transgender, and she finds the messages that Focus on the Family spreads unacceptable. One of the findings from the recent groundbreaking study on transgender discrimination, Injustice at Every Turn is that family acceptance makes an enormous difference in the lives of transgender and gender non-conforming people and has a protective affect against many threats.
