Unprecedented support for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act in U.S. Senate
When the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) was introduced in Congress a few weeks ago, we asked you to ask your senators to sign on as co-sponsors.
Guess what? It worked! We now have a record number of senators co-sponsoring ENDA. 48 senators now formally support legislation that will ensure LGBT people are protected at their jobs. This is the most support ENDA has ever had in the Senate.
We’re going to keep pushing until we meet the next milestone with 50 co-sponsors, but first we want to give credit where credit is due.
If you live in CA, CO, CT, HI, IL, MA, MD, MI, MN, MT, NJ, NY, OR, RI, VA, VT or WA then both of your senators have co-sponsored ENDA, so take time right now to send them a thank you note.
If you’re not from one of those states, you can urge your senator to be the next co-sponsor, by taking action here.
We also want to spread the word on social media, so share the image below with your networks!
