Tell Verizon to STOP bullying its workers!
This is a tough economy and many working families including LGBT families, are struggling to stay afloat. These families are often told they have to “make sacrifices,” “tighten their belts” or “learn to survive with less.” Some of the people who are getting these messages are the 45,000 Verizon workers who recently went on strike.
The strike was sparked by the company’s refusal to negotiate in good faith. Verizon wants employees to “learn to survive with less” by slashing salaries and benefits. How will Verizon justify increased profits that are made off the backs of working class people? It’s time for Verizon to return to the bargaining table and stop bullying its workers.
The Task Force is a longtime supporter of workers’ rights. We’ve stood in solidarity with Wisconsin workers when they were under a similar attack and we rallied with progressive coalitions to support workers’ rights across the country. Our organization joined over 60 LGBT national and state organizations by signing a LGBT Labor Solidarity Statement.
We will continue to fight for the rights of all workers. Please sign this petition to pressure Verizon into treating its workers with dignity and respect.
