Task Force takes part in NAACP’s annual convention
The Task Force is attending the Annual NAACP Convention in Houston, Texas, this week. The theme of this year’s convention is NAACP: Your Power, Your Decision — Vote. The Task Force is co-hosting a reception at the convention following the panel, “Civil Rights and Marriage Equality: What’s the 411?” on Wednesday, you can get the details here.

The Task Force has a long history of working with the NAACP, Julian Bond, chairman of the NAACP in 2008 gave a keynote address at our 20th National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change, and this year at our 24th National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change, current NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Jealous delivered the opening keynote remarks. The NAACP recently endorsed marriage equality and the Task Force marched with the NAACP in June to end stop and frisk.
