People from all walks of life converged on the Capitol to let lawmakers know that “Medicaid matters to us.” They talked about how arbitrary cuts to Medicaid will result in reductions in medical care, lost jobs and the loss of home and community-based services that allow people to live independently.

The rally launches an organizing drive in all 50 states. You can let your senators and representative know that Medicaid matters to you by calling the Capitol Switchboard at 202.224.3121 and asking for your senators’ and/or representative’s office. Remind them that:

  • Medicaid provides vital home and community-based services that allow LGBT seniors and younger people with disabilities to live independently.
  • Medicaid provides services that allow LGBT families to care for their children who have significant disabilities.
  • Medicaid provides vital jobs for LGBT home health aides and nursing home workers so that they can support their families.

The Task Force is a proud sponsor of today’s rally.
