Task Force holds phone bank for equality in Anchorage
As part of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force’s ongoing efforts to secure nondiscrimination protections for LGBT people in Anchorage, Alaska, we hosted a phone bank last night in Washington, D.C., to help turn out “yes” votes on Proposition 5. We are working with One Anchorage to extend nondiscrimination protections to LGBT people in Anchorage, and voters in that city will decide the issue on Tuesday, April 3.
The opposition has really amped up its efforts with shameful TV and radio ads, and having conversations with voters is the best defense against these attacks. Hearing stories of discrimination and testimonies from LGBT people and allies explaining why their community needs equal protections is very powerful, and it motivates people to vote “yes” on Prop. 5.

Volunteers call voters in Anchorage in support of Proposition 5. See more photos from the phone bank on our Facebook page.
