Task Force congratulates Kevin Jennings on being named executive director of the Arcus Foundation

The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force congratulates Kevin Jennings on being named the next executive director of the Arcus Foundation. Jennings is currently the chief executive officer of Be the Change, Inc. He previously served as assistant deputy secretary of the Department of Education under the Obama administration. He also founded and served as the first executive director of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN).

A huge congratulations to Kevin Jennings on being named executive director of the Arcus Foundation. I have had the pleasure of knowing Kevin since the early 1990s, when he was starting out at GLSEN and I was at the National Youth Advocacy Coalition. Kevin has always been passionate, determined and grace under fire — like when he held his focus as his appointment to the Obama administration came under right-wing attacks by those who don’t support LGBT equality. Kevin is thoughtful and smart, and we look forward to our continued work with the Arcus Foundation under his leadership.
