Supreme Court to hear contraceptive mandate case
Today the Supreme Court’s announced that it would hear a new challenge to the Affordable Care Act regarding the legality of so-called employer religious objections to refuse to provide their workers with mandated insurance coverage of contraceptives. Statement from Rea Carey, Task Force Executive Director:
Employers should not have the right to deny their employees access to comprehensive health care which includes vital features such as contraception. The Supreme Court’s decision could have far reaching implications for those who believe that people, not institutions, should have control of their own bodies.
