This year in particular feels more painful than others. We soon will have 4 years of Donald Trump and Mike Pence, two individuals who ran—and won—on a platform of hate. Yet as I look back, the Task Force’s work in North Carolina and across the US gives me hope. And as a person of faith, I’m proud of our work mobilizing people of faith for LGBTQ justice, reproductive justice and more. It reignites my will to fight against people intent on destroying the hope inspired by President Obama over the last 8 years.

We cannot let unscrupulous politicians use faith against us to endanger our lives with laws targeting transgender people, our reproductive health, children and the most marginalized in our community.
