Statement from the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force on the departure of LGBT liaison Gautam Raghavan from the White House

WASHINGTON, DC, Sept. 4, 2014 —“Gautam has been simultaneously an outstanding representative of the White House and of the views of the LGBTQ movement to the White House in his tenure as liaison to our community. He did honor to the role, to the President and to our community during the greatest expansion of freedoms for LGBT people on the part of any administration. On the rare occasions we have disagreed on issues, he has approached the disagreement with balance, grace, professionalism and pragmatism — qualities that are absolutely essential in representing the President and in working with advocates. We wish him all the very best of luck in his new role at the Gill Foundation where he will undoubtedly be a great asset to its important work and to the movement.”
