her/she/hershey

Washington, DC

Dana Riceel is the Special Assistant to the Executive Director. She embraces the pronouns her/she/hers and welcomes affirming epithets.

Dana pours her diverse lived experiences into her work at the Task Force. She has been afforded the opportunity to perform as a background dancer on two major tours and in videos and to provide choreography for well-renowned artists. She is a DMV event promoter who has opened spaces for the LGBTQ+ community to receive peer/professional support.

Her experience in the field of mental health piqued her interest in advocacy, and the Task Force confirmed her need to commit to the process. She is a loyal and committed team member who finds motivation from the work performed here at our organization.

As an African American female and native Washingtonian, Dana finds pleasure in seeing people like her in powerful positions while totally appreciating her exposure to individuals with varying identities. Being a team member at this organization has inspired change and increased awareness. She is thankful and proud to work with a team that embraces a value system that is firm and supportive.
