Staff Bio: Cindy Tomm
Cindy Tomm is the Major Gifts Organizer for the National LGBTQ Task Force. Ever since she can remember, Cindy has loved social justice and wanted to work in the field. As an ally, it is important to Cindy that all people are able to live their lives as their true selves without living in fear, which is why she is so passionate about advocacy work. In the past, Cindy worked as the Development Coordinator at the MinKwon Center for Community Action in Flushing, Queens, a leading immigrant rights organization in the Korean American community, the advocacy day coordinator for the Council of Senior Centers and Services, and as an intake assistant at the foster care program at The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Cindy received a bachelor’s degree of science from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and a Master’s of Public Administration from the Baruch School of Public Affairs.
Cindy believes advocacy and grassroots organizing are essential to creating real change for justice and equality, which is why she does the work she does. At the Task Force, Cindy helps raise funds from individuals. She helps spread information on what the Task Force does to encourage individuals to donate to the organization (so the Task Force can continue doing its work!). Cindy is based in our New York City office.
