Sex Ed Leadership Project
2021 SEX ED LEADERSHIP COHORT
In 2021, the National LGBTQ Task Force will launch its third iteration of the Sex Ed Leadership Project, which aims to strengthen local efforts by young LGBTQ people to advocate for sex ed policy changes.
This year, our project will be a virtual course consisting of ten sessions designed to deepen advocacy skills and focus on navigating democratic processes to enact sex ed policy change.
The course is designed for young LGBTQ advocates and activists and people who are new to advocacy or want to learn more about how to advance comprehensive, LGBTQ-centered, and inclusive sex ed.
An informational session will be held on February 17 at 6:00 PM EST, and the course will formally begin on March 3 at 6:00 PM EST.
If you would like to apply to be a part of the 2021 Sex Ed Leadership Cohort, please fill out the application here.

Testimonial
“I joined the sex-ed program in Texas to gain more insight into the issues present in health education. Stemming from some of the experiences I’ve seen in my public health work, I wanted to learn more about sex-education in a population that affected me. I didn’t have any expectations going into the program, but I left with an invaluable experience that I can bring back to my community. From the people I got to work with to the conversations I’ve been able to have, I got the chance to enter a space where I can live and learn from my peers. The program helped me be a better advocate for people in every direction, but it also gave me creative control to express myself in a way I’ve never done before. I got to be surrounded by a group of amazing friends that I could be open and honest with, and I felt heard in their presence. I’d recommend anyone to give the program a shot and see what is in store for them. It is a difficult process, but incredibly rewarding. I’d do it all over again if I could.”
