The NoVo Foundation Awards National LGBTQ Task Force Grant to Help End Violence Against Women
WASHINGTON, DC, Oct. 31, 2014 — The NoVo Foundation has awarded the National LGBTQ Task Force a grant to help end violence against all women and girls, including transgender women and girls.
“The National LGBTQ Task Force is working tirelessly to end violence against all women and to end the ongoing tragic homicides targeting transgender women. In addition to launching a public education campaign on anti-transgender violence, we are committed to creating leadership opportunities for transgender women through a variety of our initiatives: the Transgender Leadership Academy, the Transgender Leadership Exchange, the Online Organizing Academy, and of course at Creating Change — the annual premier conference on LGBTQ equality. We thank the NoVo Foundation for partnering with us to secure full freedom, justice, and equality for all women and LGBTQ people,” said Rea Carey, National LGBTQ Task Force Executive Director.
This is the first grant that the National LGBTQ Task Force has received from NoVo Foundation, whose mission is to foster a transformation from a world of domination and exploitation to one of collaboration and partnership.
