National Safe Schools Day of Action is Oct. 5

In the wake of recent LGBTQ youth suicides, the need for inclusive safe schools has become more apparent than ever on a local and national level. On Oct. 5, students, educators, youth and other members of the Safe Schools Action Network will rally in Washington, D.C., to create safe schools for all students regardless of sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
Date: October 5
Time: 12 P.M.
Location: Franklin Square (12th and K NW)
The rally at Franklin Square on Oct. 5 is one of the ways Safe Schools Action Network plans on raising awareness on this issue with the launch of Safe Schools NOW project. October is also bullying awareness month. Learn more about the Safe Schools Action Network and get more details on events nationwide, as well as tomorrow’s D.C. rally here.
