May 17 marks International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia
Tomorrow marks the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO), featuring hundreds of events around the world. IDAHO is held annually on May 17 because the date is the anniversary of the World Health Organization’s May 1990 decision to remove homosexuality from its list of mental disorders.
You can learn more about all of the events, and find one near you on the IDAHO website here. You can also participate and raise awareness for the event online by RSVPing to the global event on Facebook or following the official day on Twitter.
