Maryland marriage equality bill moves forward



Great news out of Maryland! The state House of Representatives today passed the marriage equality bill by a 72-67 vote. The measure now shifts to the Senate.

Last month, Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, addressed our 24th National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change, where  he talked about marriage equality and prohibiting discrimination based on gender identity in his state. It marked the first time a sitting governor has addressed the conference. You can read his speech here. You can also watch this clip:
