LGBTQ Advocates Call for an End to Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia

Washington, D.C., May 17, 2015—The National LGBTQ Task Force is joining lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer  (LGBTQ) advocates around the world today in observing the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT).

“No one should ever  live in fear of being discriminated against or face violence for simply being who they are. Today we join LGBTQ activists everywhere in calling for an end to homophobia,  transphobia and biphobia across our nation and across the world. As we reflect on the global nature and interconnectedness of our community, we  must intensify our work to eradicate all forms of discrimination, racism, persecution and  violence wherever they exists,” said  Rea Carey, National LGBTQ Task Force Executive Director.
