If you’re in DC join us for a reception of gay and bisexual men of African descent

The Task Force is pleased to join Us Helping Us in co-sponsoring a reception for same-gender loving men of African descent and their friends in honor of the 2012 International AIDS Conference. Featured at the event will be the Shower of Stoles, a project of the Task Force’s Institute for Welcoming Resources. It is a collection of over a thousand liturgical stoles and other sacred items representing the lives of LGBT people of faith.

The Task Force has long been an advocate for the end of HIV/AIDS and has fought for increased funding for prevention, treatment, education and research. Most recently, we called for an end to criminalization on the basis of HIV status.

Please join us for this reception, tomorrow, Wednesday, July 25 from 6:30–9:30 p.m. at the Us Helping Us headquarters on 3636 Georgia Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. We look forward to coming together tomorrow evening for this very special occasion of community and fellowship.
