History in the making: ‘A Prayer for Love & Justice’ sunrise service happening now

Folks lined up early this morning to get into A Prayer for Love & Justice, a sunrise prayer service before today’s Supreme Court Prop. 8 marriage equality 
arguments & rally!

People from more than 20 faith traditions are participating in this historic multi-faith sunrise service, which will be followed by a big rally at the steps of the Supreme Court. The service is being held at the Lutheran Church of the Reformation in D.C.

They’ve come to pray, sing and rally together, and enjoy rousing music featuring gospel singers Bishop Yvette Flunder and Marvin Matthews, with great songs like Total Praise, Break Every Chain, and Let There Be Peace On Earth.

They’re joining in powerful prayer with Dean Gary Hall of the National Cathedral, Wiccan Priestess Selena Fox, Bishop Gene Robinson, Zen Buddhist Reverend Lawrence Grecco, Rabbi Deborah Reichmann, Sister Jeannine Gramick of the National Coalition of American Nuns, Imam Daayiee Abdullah of Muslims for Progressive Values, Two-Spirit Marlon Fixico of Southern Cheyenne First Nations Collective, Rev. Elder Darlene Gardner of Metropolitan Community Churches, and leaders from Unity Fellowship, United Church of Christ, United Methodist, and many more.
