Fight Sen. Blunt’s attack on health care

Access to health care is under attack! Conservatives in the Senate have introduced an amendment that would allow employers and health insurance companies to refuse coverage for any health care service that they object to on the basis of religious beliefs or moral convictions. This means employers could refuse coverage for anything they deem “immoral.” The amendment creates a giant loophole that could affect all Americans, especially LGBT people. It’s outrageous!

Take action now against this radical right-wing rewrite of our health care laws.

The amendment introduced by Senator Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), would allow any employer, religious or not, to object to any health care services deciding what is and what is not morally acceptable. LGBT people have long suffered the consequences of being defamed as “immoral” and employers have no right to decide what health care employees should be able to access. If passed, this amendment could deny coverage for contraception, in-vitro fertilization, the treatment of HIV/AIDS, hormone therapy, cancer screenings, vaccines, domestic partner insurance, the list goes on.

The Senate is scheduled to vote on this damaging amendment on March 1, so senators need to hear from you now!
