Fact Sheet: Transgender HIV Testing Day Policy Recommendations

We released these policy recommendations on April 18, transgender HIV testing day, because we recognize that the transgender community is among those at highest risk of HIV infection.  In a meta-analysis of published studies, 27.7 percent of transgender women tested positive for HIV. Today and every day, we’re calling on federal and state policy makers to center the needs of transgender people living with HIV in their strategies to minimize transmission risk.
