Episcopalian Church approves religious weddings for same-sex couples

Washington, DC, July 2, 2015—The National LGBTQ Task Force is welcoming the decision by the Episcopal Church in the United States to perform same-sex weddings.

“This will bring great joy to Episcopalian same-sex couples across our nation who want to have their weddings performed in church. The decision will also bring hope to the many LBGTQ people of faith and welcoming people of faith of other denominations and to secular progressive people,” said Rea Carey, Executive Director of the National LGBTQ Task Force.
