Fired for getting married?
We now live in a country where people can go off and have the wedding of their dreams – if they live in or can travel to one of the 13 states (or the District of Columbia) with marriage equality. But in the majority of states, once the honeymoon is over, just putting a wedding picture on their desk puts them at risk of being fired from their jobs.
That’s why we need to pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). Tomorrow, a Senate committee will vote on ENDA, and we need your help to make sure this critical bill passes with strong support.
The overwhelming majority of Americans believe that workplace discrimination against LGBT employees is wrong and must end. It’s time for Congress to listen to the majority of Americans and give LGBT workers the peace of mind that comes from being able to work free from fear of discrimination. Together, we can ensure a free and fair work environment for everyone. If you want to join us in this effort, click here to send a clear message that it’s time to ban workplace discrimination against LGBT people.
