Election 2012 video: A ‘volunteer vacationer’ shares his transformative experience
The Nov. 6 election is fast approaching, with the battle over marriage equality in Maine, Maryland, Washington and Minnesota now in the final stretch!
The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force has teamed up with Freedom to Marry and the Human Rights Campaign to urge people like you to come out to these states for a “volunteer vacation.” What’s a “volunteer vacation”? Participating in a volunteer vacation has been a transformative experience for many, including our own David Alexander, the Task Force’s director of major gifts. In 2009, even before he was on the Task Force staff, David took a volunteer vacation to support Maine’s No on 1 campaign, which sought to secure marriage equality in that state.
