Coming soon: News on marriage equality from the Supreme Court

Tomorrow, the Supreme Court will consider whether to grant review to several cases challenging the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), as well as the federal constitutional challenge to Proposition 8, Hollingsworth v. Perry.

After its private conference, we expect the Supreme Court to release an Order List by Monday, Dec. 3, with decisions on whether to grant or deny review on the various cases. It is possible that the court will neither grant or deny review, in which case the justices will discuss the cases again at a future conference.
