Celebrate Harvey Milk Day by getting involved in local and national politics
Today would have marked Harvey Milk’s 82nd birthday, and across the country people will be remembering Harvey for his many contributions to the LGBT community and the nation. As one of the first openly gay men elected to public office in the country, he understood the importance of standing up for what you believe in and working to create change. His actions inspired a whole generation of activists, and we hope his legacy continues to drive people to build power in their own communities.
Harvey knew the importance of participating in elections, and we hope that you’ll take time today to register to vote if you’re not already registered: http://bit.ly/lgbtvote
If you are registered to vote, take this opportunity to encourage others to register and think about what else you can do to get involved during this critical election year. To participate in local Harvey Milk Day events, view the official list here: http://www.harveymilkday.co/
