Friday morning: Getting ready to build power
By Jenna Lowenstein, Interactive Media Coordinator, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force
I’m sitting in the kick-off session of the California Power Summit, and the energy in this room is electric! The Task Force trainers all just introduced themselves to the participants and now folks are meeting in small groups to learn about each other and goals for the weekend.
Participants have traveled from as far as Maine and as close as Los Angeles County to be here, but they’re all here to learn new skills and meet new people. And if the noise and energy in the room means anything, they’re all as excited to be here as the Task Force staff is.
