Board Bio: Suman Chakraborty
Suman Chakraborty is an attorney based out of New York City and is a Partner with Squire Patton Boggs, LLP. In his professional work with Patton Boggs, he assists clients in the resolution of international commercial disputes, with an emphasis on reinsurance litigation, arbitration, alternative dispute resolution, as well as disputes in the financial services industry. His pro bono work includes the successful representation of LGBT and HIV+ political asylum applications in U.S. Immigration Courts, the drafting of an amicus brief to the Iowa Supreme Court in support of marriage equality litigation, and the drafting of an amicus brief to the United States Supreme Court in support of the rights of adoptive same sex parents.
He is a member of Le-Gal, the LGBT bar association of Greater New York, and of the National LGBT Bar Association. Suman also served on the Steering Committee for “Every Voice,” Princeton University’s first ever conference for LGBT alumni, held in April 2013. He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton and his law degree from Georgetown University.
