Announcing keynote speakers for Creating Change 2013

Each year the Task Force hosts the premier organizing and skills-building event for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and its allies. Through the more than 350 workshops and training sessions and tons of networking opportunities, attendees of last year’s National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change discussed issues of faith, gender identity, race, aging, marriage, families, health, immigration, community organizing, and much, much more.

This year, we hope you’ll join us for similar stimulating discussions at our 25th National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change, which will be held January 23-27, 2013 in Atlanta.

Our featured plenary guests at the 25th annual Creating Change conference will be:

Deepak Bhargava, Executive Director of the Center for Community Change, a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop the power and capacity of low-income people to change the policies and institutions that affect their lives.

Jose Antonio Vargas, openly gay immigration rights activist and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist. Jose headlines a plenary session on immigration issues where he engages a panel of LGBT DREAM Act organizers. Learn why these brave advocates are undocumented, unafraid, unashamed and unapologetic.

Frenchie Davis, a Grammy-nominated artist for her involvement in the revival of Ain’t Misbehavin’, has also appeared on Broadway in Rent and in the role of Effie White in Dreamgirls and competed on American Idol and The Voice. Frenchie Davis is a perennial fave at Pride events around the U.S.
