Task Force Lauds American Bar Association’s New Policy Supporting LGBTQ Rights

WASHINGTON, DC, Aug. 20, 2014 —The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force is congratulating the American Bar Association (ABA) for adopting a resolution in support of LGBTQ rights.

“Thank you to the American Bar Association for standing up for justice by publically condemning all laws that discriminate against LGBTQ people. By adopting this new policy, the ABA is sending a clear message to jurists and the entire legal profession everywhere that LGBTQ rights are human rights, and they deserve full legal protection.

“As the momentum in the LGBTQ equality movement continues to grow, we look forward to continuing our work with the American Bar Association in advancing full freedom and justice for all LGBTQ people and their families.”

—Rea Carey, Executive Director, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force
