Election 2010 stretched beyond the Beltway to the grassroots.
Creating Change early bird registration extended to Nov. 15

Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum opted not to appeal a court ruling that declared the state's gay adoption ban to be unconstitutional.

We couldn't do the work we need to do without the support of our corporate partners, so we love it when we can spotlight one of them. Brinker International (think Chili's and Maggiano's Little Italy) is one of those invaluable sponsors, and they help make our annual Creating Change Conference and Miami Recognition Dinner possible. So this shout-out is for Brinker and especially its "LGBT Ambassador," the inimitable Roger Thomson. Their generosity and support rock our world!

7 Years Ago: November 2003
Our Policy Institute released Education Policy: Issues Affecting Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Youth, the first in-depth analysis of state and federal laws such as the "No Child Left Behind Act" and a comprehensive overview of research into the school experiences of LGBT youth. The report also examined policy interventions aimed at making schools safe and affirming environments for all students.

Across the country, women still receive less pay than their male counterparts (about 77 cents on the dollar). As LGBT people and straight allies, we know that all forms of discrimination are wrong — including pay inequity. The Paycheck Fairness Act is a bill that closes loopholes in current law and contains provisions designed to prevent pay discrimination. Please ask your senators to support this bill — call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at 202.224.3121 or get a list of senators here. Tell our political leaders to end "shortchanging" women's livelihoods!
Brinker International is proud to be a corporate sponsor of the Task Force. Brinker and our Chili's and Maggiano's brands are committed to diversity and inclusion for more than 100,000 team members worldwide.
