And who wouldn't be glad, thinking about roller coasters and cotton candy at a special private event just for our community. Get ready for the 7th annual Fairgrounds at 6 Flags NJ on Sept. 24 from 6 p.m. to midnight. We're especially glad because our friends at Out In Events are making this a benefit for the Task Force. To buy tickets, go to http://www.gaysixflags.com. We'll see you there!

The always-spectacular Miami Recognition Dinner is even more fabulous with the addition of Carolina Bonnelly of Bonnelly Productions to our team. Last year, this talented videographer energized our awards ceremony with three video productions, including a dynamic vignette about volunteering and a moving tribute to our local honoree. Carolina has spent many hours preparing for this year's Dinner, on Oct. 2, at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, where her contributions include a new video about the work of the Task Force. Thanks to this generous artist for donating her services as her contribution to the fight for equality.

15 Years Ago: September 1995
The Task Force coordinated a meeting at the Department of Justice (DOJ) between LGBT rights organizations and then-Attorney General Janet Reno. The discussion focused on hate crimes, anti-equality ballot measures and legislative attacks on the community. The Task Force requested DOJ seek ways to use the department and the Office of Attorney General to advance fair and equal treatment of all people.

The 2010 elections are right around the corner...are you registered to vote yet? We have the power to elect fair-minded people who will act in our interests on issues vital to our community. There is so much at stake that we can't choose to stay home on Nov. 2. That's why we're launching the "Create Change — Vote 2010" campaign. Be on the lookout for more details about all the ways your vote matters for employment discrimination, relationship recognition, immigration reform and other critical issues. We're asking everyone to pledge to vote in 2010. So get started! Register to vote today. Check out http://www.vote411.org/ for information on registering in your state.
Traveling? Collect your own miles while helping the Task Force! When making a reservation on AA.com/rainbow or with a travel agent, give them our Business ExtrAA account number, 527583, and earn valuable points for the Task Force. Plus, you'll still earn your own miles.
