Women comprise only 15 percent of the military but account for 34 percent of discharges. The Service Women's Action Network (SWAN) is doing something about it. Its "LGBT Women in the Military Helpline" provides free, confidential peer counseling to women discharged under DADT. This is the first nationwide helpline for a group too often overlooked. We thank SWAN for stepping up. Help get the word out: LGBT Women in the Military Helpline 1.888.729.2095. |

Hugh Broadus has had a leadership role on the committee for our annual D.C. Leadership Awards, now called the D.C. Recognition Evening, for many years. We love Hugh's generosity; he gives of his time (those committee meetings can be pretty long!) and he never fails to be a major contributor to the event. We hope you'll attend this year's D.C. Recognition Evening on May 11 and meet Hugh — and find out what the Task Force is up to!

You (yes YOU!) can help in the campaign to get a U.S. postage stamp created that commemorates Harvey Milk. The International Court Council has even done most of the work for you, including a letter you can print out and send. Go to the International Court Council's site to find out how you can get involved.
