Trevor Hoppe attended his first Creating Change in 2001 and, equipped with new skills and inspiration, returned home to found the Southeast Unity Conference. Unity drew 200 attendees in its first year; 600 are expected this go-round. We love that Trevor took what he learned at Creating Change and created something that passes the knowledge on to others. The Task Force joined more than a million people at the March for Women's Lives in Washington, D.C. Rea Carey, then deputy executive director, fired up the crowd with her speech at the opening rally: "Today, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people are here marching for women's lives! ... We are marching because — like everyone else — we need, deserve and demand the fundamental right to control and use our bodies without the interference of government."

The House returns from its spring recess on April 12, and we're hearing the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) could be up for a committee vote soon after. We're closer than ever to getting workplace discrimination protections for all LGBT people passed in the House. Text "ENDA" to 69866 to be connected to your representative. Your calls will make a huge difference. Even if you think your representative is supportive or if you've called before, please call now.
