Social discrimination and health: The case of Latino gay men and HIV risk

Report Type:
July 11, 2001

HIV-positive gay and bisexual Latino men are faced with the triple oppression of homophobia, racism and poverty, all of which affect how AIDS impacts their lives.

HIV/AIDS prevention services must consider the intersections of:

  • Class,
  • Gender,
  • Race, and
  • Sexual orientation,

instead of treating them as separate.
