WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 —The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force today marks the 15th Annual Celebrate Bisexuality Day. It is also known as Bi Pride Day and/or Bi Visibility Day.
"Celebrate Bisexuality Day is a day to recognize and honor bisexual people for their contributions to our lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community," said Rea Carey, executive director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force.
This day is an opportunity for bisexual people and their families, friends and supporters to recognize and celebrate bisexuality, bisexual history, bisexual community and culture, and the bisexual people in their lives.
Carey continued: "Over the past two decades, a 'lesbian and gay' movement has evolved into a 'lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender' movement: a political movement that seeks full equality for all LGBT people. My work as an activist, a leader and as a member of the LGBT community has been enriched by my bisexual colleagues, their expertise and their perspectives."

"I am proud to stand with bisexual people on this day and every day, honoring all that they bring to our politics, our society, our communities and our families. We are LGBT people, standing together, working together, and creating positive change together," said Carey.
