Michael Aller, widely known as "Mr. Miami Beach," has served as tourism director and chief of protocol for the city of Miami Beach since 1991. In this capacity, he has greeted presidents of the United States, more than 40 other heads of state and countless celebrities. Michael serves on the board of the Miami-Dade Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and is a past board member of the Gay & Lesbian Foundation of South Florida. He also helped to start www.GoGayMiami.com [1]. In 2002, Aller worked with the Task Force in securing a commitment from Miami Beach officials to establish a domestic partner registry and include transgender persons in the city's non-discrimination laws. He previously worked in the nursing home business for years before first retiring in 1979. As a young man, Michael lived with his parents in the Fontainebleau Hotel.
