In this episode, Robert Spellman discusses housing, working on behalf of “controversial” groups and the trouble with forcing people into roles that they don’t want to play.
Robert Spellman has been active in the LGBT movement for 20 years. He is currently seniors project coordinator for Gay Men of African Descent and program assistant at Central Harlem HIV Care Network, where he runs an “HIV Over Fifty” program. Robert also serves on the board of Griot Circle, an organization dedicated to enriching the lives of LGBT elders of color. His areas of expertise include HIV/AIDS, aging, communities of color and social justice.
