The National Transgender Discrimination Survey (NTDS) measured transgender people’s experiences of discrimination. The survey results showed that transgender people faced bias that affects all areas of life. However, one of the most important findings was that the combination of anti-transgender with structural and individual racism meant that transgender people of color experience particularly devastating levels of discrimination. “Injustice at Every Turn: A Look at Asian American, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and Pacific Islander Respondents in the National Transgender Discrimination Survey,” produced in collaboration with the National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance (NQAPIA) and the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE), is the third in a series of reports designed to specifically shine a light on the experiences of transgender people of color.
