Host Hotel: Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center
All conference events and programs will be held at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center
Each attendee at the Creating Change Conference is responsible for making his/her own travel arrangements.
The Creating Change room block at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center is sold out. We have secured overflow rooms at at two different hotels in close proximity to the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center.
But before you book a room at the overflow hotel, please be sure to call the Detroit Marriott in case a cancellation in our block has made a room available.
Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center: Offering a conference rate of $114.00/night. Please be sure to mention the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Creating Change Conference when making reservations. Reservations must be made by Friday, January 11, 2008 to receive the guaranteed conference rate. You may reserve a room by calling 1-800-352-0831.
Overflow rooms are available at the Motor City Casino Hotel, 2901 Grand River Avenue in downtown Detroit. The Motor City Casino Hotel will also run a shuttle service to/from the Detroit Marriott. Rooms are available at the Motor City Casino Hotel for $109/night, from Tuesday Feb. 5 to Sunday Feb. 10. Please be sure to mention the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Creating Change Conference when making reservations. To receive the guaranteed conference rate of $109/night, reservations must be made by Friday, January 28, 2008. You may reserve a room by calling 1.866.782.9622 (toll free) or 1.313.237.6733.

Host Committee
The Host Committee for the 2008 Creating Change Conference is composed of local community members who have made a commitment to bring the highest quality conference possible to Detroit. Led by Carrie Copeland, Curtis Lipscomb, Gabe Javier and Kate Runyon – with subcommittees making preparations for everything from accessibility to hospitality, youth outreach to volunteer recruitment and community housing – the Host Committee works closely with Task Force staff to develop a local foundation that makes Creating Change possible.

Volunteer
The National Conference on LGBT Equality: Creating Change is massive undertaking. Each year the number of sessions offered and the human resources needed to make the conference run smoothly is impressive. In order for this event to succeed we rely on the generosity and support of local volunteers. Volunteering with the conference is a great way to experience the work of the conference, both in sessions and behind the scenes, while getting to meet new people in your own community.
