Will I . . . have people around me that will refuse?John Otto, based out of Seattle for years, is now privacy and documentation program manager at the National Center for Transgender Equality in Washington, D.C. He is nationally known for his extensive knowledge and understanding of the complex issues facing transpeople, his knack for communicating about those complex issues in a straightforward, accessible manner and his proven record of providing accurate, insightful information. He has spoken at conferences and colleges across the country and delivered workshops including “All About T – Testosterone for FTMs,” “Transgenderism and Intersexuality – Differences and Commonalities,” and, in June 2007, the history-making “Addressing the Information Needs of Female-to-Male Transsexuals” at the American Libraries Association Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. John has a Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in multidisciplinary gender/sex studies from the Evergreen State College.
